Spend less, live more

There’s never been a better time to start cutting energy bills, with the current cost of living. With collective savings of over £400 million a year on energy bills, equating to £180 per month, new build homebuyers are already noticing their savings and they’re even greater at Winnington Place. Wider cavity thickness, increased underfloor and internal wall insulation, as well as improved thermally performing windows and doors provide better thermal performance to keep costs down and your home cosy.

With PV panels as standard at Winnington Place, your annual costs will further be reduced, through sunlight being converted into electricity to power your homes appliances and lighting.

Reduced bills and increased efficiency leaves home owners at Winnington Place, with more to spend on decorating their new Anwyl homes, enjoying holidays or eating out.

PV solar panels

In the pursuit of sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, PV panels are standard on all homes at Winnington Place. By converting sunlight into electricity, PV solar panels reduce your reliance on electricity from the grid, often generated from fossil fuels. Therefore, PV solar panels improve the EPC rating and reduce your energy bills in your new Anwyl home.

Going for green

Our new build homes are significantly more environmentally friendly than older properties, alongside the vast financial savings. All Anwyl homes at Winnington Place have a predicted EPC rating A, in comparison to the average existing property in the UK, with an EPC rating D. With improved energy efficiency, our new builds use 55% less energy as well as reducing carbon emissions by 40% on average per year.

FAQs

  • When sunlight hits the PV panels, the energy produced from sunlight is absorbed into the PV cells, that are held within the panel. The absorbed energy creates electrical charges that causes electricity to flow throughout your home, into your homes’ appliances and lights. The more PV panels that are on your home, the more electrical flow is produced.

  • PV panels are rectangular black panels that are size dependent – Bigger homes have larger, and often more PV panels attached. They are sat in a row and fitted to the roof of your brand new Anwyl home, as standard.

  • Your PV panels will be connected to your switchboard, so you can easily switch your PV panels on and off when needed. You will also need to switch off your Inverter Isolator, this can be done in reverse to switch this back on.

  • PV panels are growing in popularity. With technology increasing, PV solar panels have the ability to offset long term costs and increase the savings to household bills per year.

  • Very little maintenance is required for your PV panels. It is recommended that they are cleaned twice a year to minimise the interruption of the sunlight absorption, and typically have a 25-30 year lifespan, with a five-year warranty.

  • PV panels come as standard with all homes at Winnington Place Phase 2, with the option to upgrade to include more PV solar panels if you wish.
